Skilled casino staff demand to rise 30 pct: Macau govt

Demand for managerial and other types of skilled workers in the Macau casino industry is expected to grow by about 30% over the next three years. The government-established Special Committee on Labor Policy made the estimate.

The figures were revealed at a meeting of the Human Resources Development Committee on Friday. Macau CEO Fernando Cui Zion presided over the meeting.

These predictions are based on research commissioned by the Commission from four higher education institutions in Macau. The results of the study were not disclosed. Instead, the estimate was included in Friday's meeting's official press release. We did not elaborate on the methodology used to derive the figures.

According to a press release, the findings suggest that labor demand in Macau's gaming industry-related sector has increased significantly. It is estimated that about 27,000 new hospitality jobs will be created over the next three years.

The retail sector is expected to see a 25% increase in labor over the same period. The restaurant sector is expected to create 16,000 new jobs.

According to data from the Macau Bureau of statistics and censuses, Macau's gaming division employed more than 58,000 employees in the second quarter of 2015. More than 2,200 people took positions at the director and manager level. This segment had approximately 25,000 employees as dealers. 릴게임

Macau's casino entrepreneurs are investing billions of dollars in new projects in the Kotai region. They will be open on various dates by 2017, and thousands of workers will be needed to run them. Galaxy Entertainment Group and Melco Crown Entertainment opened a new property in Kotai earlier this year. Both companies have additional developable land.
